Chloé Rosetta Bell
Ceramics
Ceramicist Chloé Rosetta Bell is both an artist and researcher, and her material-focused practice examines the livelihoods that are dependent on a specific landscape. She studies the materials and narratives connected to particular places to inform her collections, and by sourcing and transforming these same materials, she creates ceramic objects that celebrate that landscape, with a subtle but essential emphasis on its sustainability.
In her most recent work for the New Craftsman, Chloé's has developed glazes from David Austin Rose residue produced from distilling gin. Working from her home studio on the Isle of Wight, Chloé has quietly focused on creating forms that propose function but allow her glazes space to become contemplative objects.
