Chris Boland's jewellery is inspired by the artist’s fascination for inorganic structures, particularly architectural metalwork and sculpture, where marks made during construction are allowed to remain. The backstory of each gemstone he uses is of great importance to his work, and accordingly, all of his stones are left untreated and used in their natural state.
Chris Boland was born in York and studied Metalwork and Jewellery at Sheffield Hallam University. He creates collections and bespoke work at his studio, at the Exchange Place Studios in Sheffield.
