Henrietta Dubrey
Painting
Henrietta Dubrey creates figurative and abstract paintings inspired by the female figure and modern-day femininity. Color and shape are a primary feature of her work and she is strongly influenced by the Constructivism and Lyrical Abstraction of the mid-20th century St Ives School artists.
Henrietta Dubrey was born in Sussex in 1966. She studied at West Sussex College of Art & Design, Byam Shaw School of Art, Wimbledon School of Art and the Royal Academy London. She currently lives in West Penwith, Cornwall. Selected Solo Exhibitions:

My work is generally described as abstract, although I would describe my paintings as autobiographical deconstructions and reconstructions of life. These ideas appear on the canvas surface often as an abstract gestural web, occasionally tangled, occasionally bold and resolved. An iconic form is liberated from a void into being.
