Rebecca
McDonald’s extraordinary creations are made by dry needle felting, a process which
involves hand stabbing a barbed needle repeatedly into wool tufts. Starting
with her own drawings as a guide, she works freely, creating details and
individual expressions for each character. Her work is made from 100% wool, sourced
from UK farms in natural colours or coloured with organic plant dyes.
Rebecca learned her trade at The Arts Institute Bournemouth, graduating with a degree in Arts and Event Management. Her designs are influenced by traditional craft techniques and she uses sustainable materials to hand-make each item.
