Christmas Exhibition 2022 - Matthew Richardson

Matthew Richardson studied at Central St. Martins, UWIC Cardiff and Kingston School of Art, and he has taught at Art colleges including UCA Maidstone, Norwich University and the RCA. His process is one of assemblage - of gathering and connecting fragments, by folding, plaiting, squashing and stretching in order to explore how meanings and messages shift through the passing of time. Oblique and chance connections are unearthed and built upon, allowing materials to evolve their own particular forms and identities. 

Matthew’s work has been shown at Tactile Bosch, g39, Oriel Davies, Transition, Outpost and Kingston Museum and commissions have included projects with the V&A, the British Library and the Poetry Society.
