This joint exhibition by husband and wife Jason Collingwood and Akiko Hirai will be Jason’s last and marks the end of his 30 year career as an internationally respected weaver. Over the last three decades Jason has rarely exhibited but has woven more than 2000 beautiful rugs by commission, including rugs for luxury Spanish fashion house Loewe, and each is entirely unique, woven by hand on the loom using a block weave structure. Closing an important chapter in Jason’s life, this special collection of handwoven works demonstrates his talent for creating striking and technically complicated geometric designs.
This truly unique exhibition offers collectors the last chance to acquire work by one of the world’s finest textile artists, as well as works of love and celebration by one of the world’s leading contemporary ceramicists.
