Yo Thom - 2022 Collection

We are very pleased to present a much anticipated exhibition of new ceramics by Yo Thom.

Japanese potter Yo Thom works in the heart of the beautiful Dorset countryside, creating  pieces that respond to the landscape surrounding her rural workshop. Her hand-built, functional stoneware is influenced by both British and traditional Japanese pottery and food culture, and this new collection is developed with her love of Japanese folk indigo fabric and its traditional “Boro” patterns in mind. Her work is formed using various techniques including throwing, slabbing, coiling, and pinching, and is finished with sgraffito techniques on an indigo slip which is then covered with a white glaze.
