We are proud to announce that Professor Simon Olding, Director of the Crafts Study Centre, Farnham, is writing a new book on the history of the New Craftsman Gallery St Ives.

Simon has spent his career researching modern and contemporary craft practice, with a special interest in 20th century and contemporary studio ceramics, and the history of craft organisations in southwest England. He has previously made special studies of the etchings of Bernard Leach and of Leach’s personal collection of studio ceramics.

We are currently planning an exhibition to accompany the book’s publication, which we hope will be in 2023.
